SAP Security Research investigates data anonymization methods such as differential privacy and synthetic data to protect personal identifiable information in the context of machine learning. Differential privacy has been widely adopted in the IT industry and provides a promising way to anonymize data while offering formal privacy guarantees even against attackers with strong background knowledge. Our team focuses on the application of differential privacy to enterprise data.

As the global research department for security we are working on innovations around data protection and applied cryptography. We are a young and dynamic team of PhD Students and post-doctoral researchers striving for new ways to protect enterprise systems. By this we can support you during your internship on academic as well as hands-on architectural questions.

Possible topics for internships include:

+ Development of novel methods to produce synthetic (textual) data for machine learning

+ Development and adaption of differential privacy mechanisms for new data types or applications
